Design Refinement Consultation

LTC Design Consultation – Taking Part

The LTC Design Consultation launched at 00:01 on Tues 14th July and will run until 23:59 on Weds 12th August 2020.  Here we provide info on taking part.

You can find an index of all Thames Crossing Group updates relating to the consultation at www.thamescrossingactiongroup.com/ltc-design-consultation-2020-index/

Due to COVID-19 the consultation will be held differently from previous consultations and HE are declaring they are taking a “digital first” approach, so please have a read below of how you can find out more and have your say.

Also please help us by spreading the word to others and helping those who might not be online to get a copy of the consultation pack and response form.  Together we are stronger!

Home delivery
If you need a physical/printed consultation pack delivered to your home free of charge, you can request a consultation pack that contains a guide to consultation, maps, a response form and a Freepost return envelope.

To request a consultation pack, complete this form, or email info@lowerthamescrossing.co.uk, or call 0300 123 5000.

It is worth noting that the basic pack they send out does not include the Environmental Impacts Update that is available online.  We have asked if this document will be available upon request and will update here when we get a response.

HE/LTC have stated ‘one copy per household’. When we have questioned this they told us they are “trying to protect public funds”.  We feel that everyone who wishes to take part should be entitled to have their say in the consultation. Whilst we obviously understand the importance of taking care of public money and also the environment, if you do have a genuine reason to request more than one copy we know from experience they are being sent if requested, simply provide the name of each person at the address who needs a copy.

It is also worth remembering that every individual in the household is entitled to submit their own individual response (including children), so you may want/need to request more than one copy of the response form for each member who wishes to respond.  Please don’t allow their comments on only one copy per household put members of your household off responding, anyone who needs a paper copy of the response form should be entitled to one.

Deposit locations and Information points
Owing to the restrictions in place due to the Coronavirus, many libraries and civic centres have limited capacity to hold/display deposit copies of the consultation materials for you to review and take away. HE/LTC are evidently working closely with venues in affected areas to provide them with copies of the consultation material in a safe way.

Currently on the HE/LTC website they are listing the following:

Deposit locations – reference copies of all consultation documents available to review, and copies of the guide to consultation, large scale maps, response form, and Freepost envelope to take away:

  • Rochester Library

Information points – copies of the guide to consultation, large scale maps, response form, and Freepost envelope to take away:

  • Belhus Library
  • Grays Library
  • Brentwood Library
  • Corringham Library
  • East Tilbury Post Office

More venues might become available during the consultation period. Keep an eye on their website for these updates, and we will try to update here as we notice any updates from HE/LTC too.
