National Highways LTC community pop-up events

National Highways have informed us that they will be holding some Lower Thames Crossing community pop-up events in September/October 2022.

In their email to us NH say, the pop-up events will give people another chance to meet their team, talk to them about their plans – including proposals on new walker, cyclist, and horse rider routes. They also say that people can learn more about how they are designing the Lower Thames Crossing to be the greenest road ever built!!

‘New’ paths for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders is funny since, as we’ve previously shown, many of the ‘new’ paths are existing paths that people use now.  Just because they would need to realign the paths does not make them ‘new’ paths in our opinion.

As for the “greenest road ever built” don’t even get us started!  The proposed Lower Thames Crossing would be hugely destructive and harmful, and emit over 7 million tonnes of carbon emissions, at a time of climate emergency. To make a statement like this is despicable and absolute greenwash nonsense.  If you go along to one of the events, don’t forget to tell them which shade of green paint they should use, if it goes ahead, because that’s the only way LTC could be green!

They also stated in the email to us that these are the next round of their regular programme of events and that they’ll be planning more in the future.

Seems like NH/LTC are desperate to keep up the propaganda and greenwash attempts for LTC to us!
