In the article above Lizzie Massey spoke with Ken Bowman who spent years designing tunnels and previously worked on the Victoria tube tunnel and the initial widening of the A2 to make it a dual carriageway. Has posed an alternative plan for a 6 mile long twin bored tunnel which directly addresses traffic at the current crossing at a lower cost to the proposed Option C with the added potential for less pollution too.
