Media coverage in March 2023

Wow, media coverage in March 2023 has already been extensive and we’re only on the 10th of the month!  Here’s just some of the coverage our comments on LTC.

When the news broke that government had announced that there would be a two year delay on the LTC construction starting, IF permission is granted our phone started ringing!  Lots of requests for interviews and comments before we’d even really had a chance to read and digest the government statement!

The Guardian
We were first quoted in The Guardian, in an update to the breaking news story where we first learnt of the announcement. Our bit is towards the bottom after the stuff about HS2!

BBC Radio Essex
We started with doing a pre-recorded interview with BBC Radio Essex on the evening of 9th March that we believe started going to air in the early hours of the 10th.

South Basildon and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe also had a good chat to Ian Wyatt, who was sitting in for Sonia Watson on the Breakfast Show, about the LTC delay.

Kent Online
Around 10.15am on the 10th we did an interview with Kent Online, you can read more here and there’s a quick snippet below too!

BBC Radio Essex (again!)
About 10.30am we were back on BBC Radio Essex this time live and talking to Ben Fryer.

ITV Meridian
At 11am we pre-recorded an interview with ITV Meridian News.

BBC South East Lunchtime News
At 11.50 we did a pre-recorded interview with BBC South East News ready for their lunchtime news.

KMTV
At 12.30 we did an interview with KMTV ready to go to air later in the day.  Sections of the interview were used in both Kent Tonight and the KMTV Politics Show.

BBC South East Evening News
Due to an unexpected scheduling issue, CPRE Kent, Director, Hilary Newport kindly stepped in to do a location interview in the afternoon.  Together we are stronger!

BBC Radio Kent
At around 4.35pm we were chatting live on air to Erika North on BBC Radio Kent.  Also voicing his concern about the proposed LTC was Leader of Gravesham Borough Council, Cllr John Burden.
